Bokang “JPEG” Motshabi is a Conceptual photographer whose work is based on the impact of society on black bodies. The work references the culture of black people within the townships and those who exist as Queer in township spaces which are influenced by traditional culture, moments and experiences. It is reflective on the 24/7 of “kasi” (township) life and the hierarchy which exists within living and experiencing the detail of ‘Kasi’’ life.
